When choosing a university always go visit the campus. I forever thought I would attend a particular D1 university and the second I stepped foot on that campus, I knew I would not be attending. When I came to visit Angelo State University I instantly felt the difference between the two schools. Being on campus I was at ease and felt like I was home. I knew then and there I would be attending ASU that next Fall.
ASU was home, I was a good distance from my family but I was still able to go back when I needed to. I loved the friendly feeling of the campus, and you can’t overlook how beautiful it is year-round. I loved it from the second I toured it. PLUS the scholarships available to students really helped me reach my goals.
My absolute favorite place while being on campus was the University Center. There was always something going on, so when I needed a study break I went to the UC, grabbed some food, and enjoyed whatever activity was going on that day.
The best part about my job is helping students start their path to reaching their dream. Applying to college is A LOT, and I wish I would have talked to my admissions counselor more often. I want to be the person they can call when they are not quite sure what’s next and I want to make the admissions process as smooth as possible for each student.
